What is in-hand salary?

In-hand (take-home) salary is what you receive after statutory and voluntary deductions from your gross monthly pay. Actual payslips may include TDS, employer PF, and benefits not modeled here.

Formula

Gross = Basic + HRA + Special allowance + Other allowances
PF = Basic × (PF % ÷ 100)
Net in-hand = Gross − PF − Professional tax − Other deductions

Example

Basic ₹50,000, HRA ₹20,000, special ₹10,000 → gross ₹80,000. PF at 12% = ₹6,000, PT ₹200 → net in-hand ≈ ₹73,800 (before income tax).

FAQ

Is income tax included?

No — add estimated TDS separately or use the income tax calculator for a fuller picture.

Is PF always 12% of basic?

Many employees contribute 12% of basic (subject to wage ceiling rules). Adjust the PF % to match your payslip.
